Showtime hasn’t been shy about teasing the return of Yellowjackets, but today, due to a brand-new teaser, we finally get a decent look at season 2 of the program. A new character, played by Elijah Wood, questions some complex friendships that revolve around kidnapping and murder, Natalie (Juliette Lewis) talks about bringing “darkness” back, and both young and old Misty (Christina Ricci and Samantha Hanratty) weep in the short (just over a minute) clip. Don’t worry too much about spoilers, though, as it doesn’t reveal much about what to anticipate.
A high school soccer team was left trapped in the bush following an aircraft accident in Yellowjackets’ debut season, which ended over a year ago. It was divided into two sections: the team’s attempt to survive on the island was followed in the first, and the team’s life 25 years later was covered in the second.
Oh, and to add even more unusual twists and turns into the occult, there are also cults, cannibalism, and other bizarre occult diversions. A stellar cast, including Melanie Lynskey, Ricci, and Lewis, contributed to its success.
The second season begins on March 24.
