Highlights of the Economic Survey 2023: Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, presented the annual pre-budget report to the Lok Sabha earlier in the day.
Highlights:-Nearly twenty-four hours before she is supposed to deliver the Union budget in the lower House of Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman submitted the annual pre-budget Economic Survey in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
At a press conference at 2 pm, chief economic adviser (CEA) Dr. V Anantha Nageswaran revealed the paper to the public.
President Droupadi Murmu’s pre-budget session address, delivered to members of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha in a joint session, came before Sitharaman’s speech. The President’s address signals the start of Parliament’s budget session. Moreover, as the nation’s second female head of state who took office in July of last year, President Murmu delivered her first budget session address at that time (after Pratibha Patil).
